The Crystals Of Life

Salt is a pre-requisite of the bodily functions.

Our bodies are composed of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, water, as well as ions such as calcium, phosphor, sodium, chlorine, potassium, sulfur, and magnesium. Among these, sodium, chlorine, potassium and calcium ions help achieve electrolyte balance in the body. Have these ions less or more than certain levels, and you would have an upset equilibrium of electrolytes, which would lead to certain problems in the body. Among these ions, we get sodium and chlorine from salt.

Pure salt is composed of approximately 40% sodium, and 60% chlorine. Salt provides for a majority of the replacement sodium and chlorine, which is lost through various processes.

Water and salt is the source of life.

That is why we call salt "the crystals of life".
